Meet the Team

Andrew Morton - Producing Artistic Collaborator

Andrew is a theatre-maker, teaching artist, husband, and dog-dad living, working, and creating in Detroit. He makes theatre because he believes stories are powerful and help us make sense of ourselves and our ability to shape the communities in which we live and work. He hopes Sofa Stories Detroit will give people an insight into youth homelessness and housing insecurity in their community, and inspire everyone to consider what they can do to help end youth homelessness. You can learn more about Andrew and his other work here.

Ollie Rae Johnson - Associate Artistic Collaborator

Ollie Rae Johnson is a queer and trans theatre artist and creative/research writer who finds immense joy in supporting fellow creatives. In 2020, they graduated from Wayne State University with a double major in Theatre and English, and a minor in Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies. They make art because they believe stories have the power to create/connect communities and are excited by theatre that aims to question traditional form and power structures in our society. It is their hope that Sofa Stories will provide audiences with the collective understanding that everyone deserves housing safety and security.

Matt Harmon - Associate Artistic Collaborator

Matt Harmon is a writer, musician, and theater facilitator who recently graduated from the University of Michigan with a major in International Studies and a minor in Playwriting. His hope for Sofa Stories is that the project allows opportunities for youth who have experienced housing insecurity to engage with the content and make a difference for others.

Dana Pittman - Associate Artistic Collaborator

Dana is a theater creative, youth educator, frequent sampler of hobbies, and mental health with a limited license in social work. She is most excited about theater that questions inequalities and brings forth creative solutions, though she also enjoys theater that exists simply for play and pleasure. Her hope for Sofa Stories is that we are able to amplify the stories and voices of youth that have experienced housing insecurity in an effort to end homelessness for all people.
